Is it really all that important to keep my new tractor in a shed or barn? How is it different then a car? Is it just for the paint job? Would a tarp do that same job? Thanks

It definitely will help the resale value if you keep it covered. Tarps have a few problems - they will promote condensation and rust, wind movement will eventually cause them to rub through the paint and mice and rodents will have easier access to nest and chew through wiring. ....
